Story
Pedro Doncker
Tough and Robust
The impressive barkentijn “Pedro Doncker” is a well-known appearance at various nautical events, a fast sailor with plenty of deck space. In 1992, the sturdy ocean-going ship was thoroughly rebuilt into a stately three-mast rigging.
The Pedro Doncker is a robust seagoing vessel, built to withstand the rough seas of the North Atlantic. In 1992, the tough sailor with a nod to the past and a look at the future was transformed into an imposing three-masted barkentijn, after which the ship was used as a charter ship in the Caribbean Sea.
In 1998, Reederij bought Vlaun Holding B.V. de Pedro Doncker and sailed it with a crew of only four men across the Atlantic to Europe. On this trip the Pedro Doncker once again proved her seaworthiness by braving two hurricanes. Since then, this “Tall Ship” sails the European waters where it is a popular sight at various nautical events.
The two lounges, one with a cozy bar, the spacious deck, partly covered, makes the ship ideal for day trips and company meetings.
